Use images in apps

You can use the Image component to insert custom images into apps, for example to display your company logo.

You can upload images in JPG, PNG, and GIF format with a maximum file size of 1 MB to the Image component. Alternatively, you can also provide a URL to an image. This way, you can use all image formats supported by the browser.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Open an analysis.

  2. Add an app to the analysis.

  3. Add an image to the app.

    1. Click Add component Add a new component. The Configuration panel opens.

    2. Select the Image component in the Configuration panel. The selected component is placed in the app. The Configuration panel opens automatically. To open the Configuration panel manually, select the component in the app and click the administration Configure icon.

  4. Specify the image source.

    Upload an image from a specific location.

    1. Select Upload image from the Source drop-down menu.

    2. Click Upload image.

    3. Select an image and click Open.

      Specify a URL for the image source.

    4. Select Provide a URL from the Source drop-down menu.

    5. Enter a URL in the Image URL input field. You can also enter a relative URL to a source in the ARIS document storage.

      The specified image is displayed in the app.

  5. You can use the mouse pointer to move or resize the Image component.

  6. To set the image alignment within the Image component, select the alignment in the corresponding drop-down menus. If you select the Constrain option, the image is centered and automatically adjusted to the Image component size.

  7. To define minimum distances between the image and the edges of the Image component, enter the pixel values in the corresponding Padding input fields.

  8. You can add an alternative image text that can be used for accessibility. Click Add a description and enter a text into the Image description input field.

  9. To set a background color for the Image component, click the Background color box and specify a color.

You added an image to an app and specified the Image component settings.

If you uploaded an image, the image is stored in the current analysis and can be exported with the corresponding project.
