Export projects

You can export your project including, for example, all analyses and the associated analysis model.

Exporting a project allows you to transfer the corresponding analyses and the underlying data set configuration to another ARIS Process Mining system. You can also export the current state of the project and restore it at another time.

You can select the following assets to export with your project.

  • Analyses

  • Analysis model

  • Data model

  • Extractions

  • Transformations

  • Reference processes

  • Source data

  • Insight links

  • Automations

When you select extractions or transformations, the corresponding connections or parameters are exported automatically. You cannot select connections or parameters manually. When parameters are exported, you can edit the default value of the parameters before exporting.

When you select reference processes, only those with an active mapping are exported, together with that mapping.

When you select automations, ensure that the related extractions and insight triggers are included in the export. (For insight triggers, include the analysis model.)

Note that some assets of newer versions of ARIS Process Mining may not be supported by older versions of ARIS Process Mining. The assets may then not be able to be imported.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Open a project.

  2. Click administration Configure at the bottom of the Project panel.

  3. Click Export project. The Export project wizard opens.

  4. Enter a name.

  5. Use the data for your own projects.

    1. Select Private.

    2. Click Next.

    3. Click Select assets to select the assets to export.

    4. Click Next. ARIS Process Mining prepares the data for export.

    5. Click Download to export the process data as APMS file.

    6. Click Done to close the dialog.

  6. Make your project data available to other users.

    1. Select Public.

    2. Click Next. A dialog to describe your project opens.

    3. To edit the displayed thumbnail image, click the edit Edit icon.

    4. You can enter a category in the corresponding input field.

    5. You can enter an author name in the corresponding input field.

    6. You can add screenshots to the project description. Click an image field and select an image. Click + Add Image to add up to four images.

    7. You can enter a description in the corresponding input field.

    8. In the Highlight input field, you can enter text that will be displayed as additional list in the description. Click the + symbol to add additional input fields for highlighting.

    9. You can enter a version in the corresponding input field.

    10. You can enter a publishing date in the corresponding input field.

    11. You can specify a URL to a detailed documentation of your project in the Documentation input field.

    12. You can specify a URL to additional resources in the Resources input field, for example, a ZIP file.

    13. You can specify a URL to the author's web page in the corresponding input field.

    14. You can enter legal copy right information in the Copyright input field.

    15. Click Next. The dialog to select the package contents opens.

    16. Click Select assets to select the assets to export.

    17. When you export extractions or transformations, a dialog box opens to set the default values of the available parameters. Specify the default parameter values if required.

    18. Click Next. The Preview page opens.

    19. Click Next. ARIS Process Mining prepares the data for export.

    20. Click Download to export the process data as APMS file.

    21. Click Done to close the dialog.

You have exported the selected project.
