Dimension
A dimension is an field that slices and describes data records, for example, name, identifier, sales region, employee, or location. Dimensions are qualitative and do not total a sum. The dimension identifier is a unique name of a dimension that is used in a component. When a dimension is added to a component, the identifier is created automatically, but can be changed by the user.
