Fields

A field of a case, activity, or connection is described by a column of the data model. Each field and its corresponding column in the model are defined as a dimension or a measure.

Examples of fields are the amount of a purchase order, the name of the supplier, the name of the employee performing the activity, and the patient’s age.

Activities, case IDs, and timestamps are also fields, but they are mostly referred to by their respective names. These fields are used in various types of analysis to provide context and important information needed to answer questions about your process. For example, financial fields are necessary for financial analysis.
