Start the extraction process

After you configured the data extraction, you must start the process to extract the data from the SAP source system and import it into ARIS Process Mining.

  • EXTRACTION_START parameter contains the start timestamp of the time interval to be extracted. Specify the value in format yyyyMMdd in UTC, for example, 20210301 for 1. March 2021.

  • EXTRACTION_END parameter contains the end timestamp of the time interval to be extracted. Specify the value in format yyyyMMdd in UTC, for example, 20210401 for 1. April 2021.

Specify a time range that you know data exists in your SAP source system.

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Open the Extractions section.

  2. Click Extract all. The Extract data dialog opens.

  3. For this example, enter the following values (without the double quotes). The data is extracted from 1. March 2021 until 1. April 2021. The data is extracted in English.

    EXTRACTION_START: "20210301"

    EXTRACTION_END: "20210401"

    LANGUAGE: "E"

  4. Click Extract to start the extraction.

The data extraction is started.

The extraction process will take a few minutes. You can check the status of the started data extraction in the Run log section.

Note that you cannot change the extraction configuration while the data extraction is running.
